3.3 General functional description
The waste water pumps consist of a robust pump
and motor casing made from aluminium, cast iron
or fine steel depending on the version. The medium
pumped is drawn in from below through the suction
screen (filter) and fed between the outer wall
of the motor and the outer jacket to the pressure
connection above. This design feature ensures
that the pumps are also cooled sufficiently in slurp
operation (low water level).
– The alternating current pumps SW 2-7SL
and SW 3-8SL, with float switches fitted, operate
fully independently, i.e. above a certain filling level
the pump is switched on or off automatically.
The float switch can be set for continuous monitored
operation.
Warning: Do not allow to run dry.
– The alternating current pump SW 7-10SL runs
as soon as the pump is connected to the power
supply and until the power plug is withdrawn.
It is ideal for wreckage, bilge or similar applications.
Evacuation is possible with the pump down to
around 5 mm by dismantling the filter (see also 4.1.2).
– The three-phase pumps SW 8-12 and larger provide
high performance and reliable pumping systems
in combination with Biral control units and level
controllers.
