Confusing the measuring jacks can lead to the
GB
destruction of the object to be tested and maybe also of the
multimeter: With voltage measurements the red measuring
cable must be plugged into the corresponding V ΩmA jack.
If it is accidentally plugged into the 10 A current jack which
is not protected by fuse, then the applied measuring volt-
age is short-circuited by the 10 A shunt of the multimeter.
There may also occur damage to the multimeter.
Important: Only use the 10 A current jack if it is really
necessary. After the measurement immediately plug the
red cable back into the jack VΩmA!

4.1.2 AC voltage

Choose one of both AC V voltage ranges (V~) at the rotary
switch.

4.2 DC current

The maximum current to be measured must not exceed
10 A.
Do not accidentally apply a voltage to the meter while the
rotary switch is set to a current measuring range (µA,
mA, A) or while the test leads are connected to the jacks
10 A DC and COM; the meter and the voltage source
may be damaged.
The multimeter is protected by a 250 mA / 250 V fuse,
quick acting, including the 200 mA range. The measur-
ing range of 10 A is not protected by fuse. Special
care must be taken.
Switch on the highest or suitable DC A range and insert the
multimeter in the circuit to be tested. For currents of more
than 200 mA and up to 10 A turn the rotary switch to its 10 A
position and plug the red measuring cable into the 10 A
jack.
