- Review and explain the operating principle to the end user
- Review and explain the safety alerts to the end user
- Explain the general safety rules to the end user, including the hot surface hazard of the glass and
other parts of the pellet stove when it is in use and for some time after use

Placing your pellet stove
Choose the location for installation of your pellet stove as follows:
- Make sure that the minimum clearances from combustible materials will be met as shown in this
Manual.
- Provide unobstructed access for maintenance and servicing.
- The pellet stove must be installed on a flat and firm floor (made of steel or concrete). The floor
to place the pellet stove on may feature an engineered base plate or a slightly elevated kerb to
improve the final appearance.
CAUTION: The clearances from the combustible materials specified in this Manual are the minimum
safe clearances established by safety testing. Combustible materials mean all objects which can be
ignited by heat: wallpaper, wood, textiles, paper, etc. Note that the minimum clearance applies not
only to the visible surface of objects around the pellet stove; they also apply to the combustible mate-
rials which could be concealed under the visible surfaces.
If you are not sure if a material is combustible, consult your local fire brigade. The so-called fireproof
materials are also qualified as combustible. It is harder to ignite them, but under certain conditions,
they will also burn. Have your building plans reviewed by a building inspector, the reseller, or the
installer before installing your pellet stove.
