fully automatic process of wooden pellet combustion. The heating appliance shall only be installed by
competent installers / technical service personnel only.
CAUTION !!!
Follow the fire safety rules and all applicable local and national building regulations when in-
stalling the heating appliance.
Installation and operating safety guidelines for the heating appliance:
- Make sure that the flue vent duct is compatible with the heating appliance. The flue vent duct shall
provide a draught at 12±2 Pa.
- Keep the hearth door of the heating appliance closed when in use.
- Do not use other fuel types that the one recommended by the manufacturer.
- Do not use flammable desooting products.
- Clean the hearth and the grate with a vacuum cleaner only when the pellet stove is cold.
- Note that it takes approximately 1 hour to cool down the pellet stove after turning it off (this does
not apply to the cast-iron parts inside the combustion chamber, which may take longer to cool down
if the hearth door is closed).
- Never use fire starters or other flammable materials to ignite the pellet stove. The ignition process is
handled by automatic controls!
- Do not obstruct the vents or the air intake of the hearth.

GENERAL
The VIKING pellet stove shall be installed according to local and national regulations. The pellet stove
must have a safe clearance from all flammable materials. Install the pellet stove on a firm and non-com-
bustible floor. It could be necessary to protect the walls and other materials near the pellet stove from
heat. The flue vent duct shall be gas-tight and feature smooth inner walls. Have the flue vent duct
cleaned of soot and other contaminants before installing the pellet stove. The flue vent connection
of the stove must be gas-tight and made from non-combustible materials resistant to oxidation (ac-
id-resistant ducts are recommended). If the flue vent duct fails to provide the required draught (12±2
Pa), consider installing a new flue gas chimney line. The flue vent duct must not generate an excessive
draught. Otherwise a chimney draught controller must be installed in the flue vent duct. Alternatively,
the flue chimney can have a specific top unit installed to adjust the draught. The flue gas chimney
safety inspection shall only be done by certified chimney service technicians. All modifications of the
