4.0 INSTALLATION /
OPERATION
4.1 Installing the Bluetooth
OBD-II Car Controller
▪ First check if the vehicle features a
16-pin DLC connector (Data Link
connector).
▪ In most vehicles the OBD-II / DLC
connector is located in the fuse box
inside the instrument panel. If you are
unable to locate the vehicle's DLC
jack, please refer to the vehicle's ma-
nual or contact the automaker / ser-
vice partner.
▪ The Bluetooth OBD-II Car Controller
works with all EU vehicles and EU
compact vans with spark ignition en-
gines manufactured in 2000 or later,
and diesel engines manufactured in
2003 or later, equipped with OBD-II
Jack and suitable for diagnostic pro-
tocols VPW, CAN, PWM, ISO and
KWP2000.
▪ On vehicles made in 2002 or later
supported by mode 9 the vehicle's
VIN (vehicle identification number)
will be read out.
▪ The Bluetooth OBD-II Car Controller
does not require a separate power
supply. Power and data are trans-
mitted by the vehicle's engine control
unit via the OBD-II jack.
▪ Please note the PIN number for the
Bluetooth OBD-II Car Controller
to set up the Bluetooth connection
in the next steps.
▪ Carefully connect the Bluetooth
OBD-II Car Controller to the vehicle's
OBD-II jack. Be sure the vehicle igni-
tion is off! In some vehicles you may
first need to remove a cover plug
from the OBD-II vehicle jack.
