Clutch lever adjustment
Adjust the clutch lever when the engine stops, or the vehicle tends to
move forward even when clutch lever is operated, and the gear
engaged, or if the clutch" slides", resulting in acceleration delay
considering the engine revs. Check the lever free play:
1. Pull the clutch lever [A] lightly and check the clutch lever free
play [B]. The clutch lever free play should be:
Clutch Lever Free Play:
Standard: 2~ 3 mm (0.08~ 0.12 in.)
If the free play is incorrect adjust it as follows:
2. Loosen the locknut [D]
3. Turn the adjuster [E] to adjust the free play.
4. Tighten the locknut [D].
If the specific clutch lever free play cannot be adjusted at the clutch lever, use
the adjuster at the lower end of clutch cable as follows:
1. Turn the locknuts [A] till the free play is correct.
2. After adjustment, start the engine and check that the clutch does not slip
and that it releases properly.
CAUTION
Take your motorcycle to a Mondial Official Dealer if it is not possible
to obtain a correct clutch adjustment or in case of irregular clutch
operation.
NOTE
Check the clutch wire is in good conditions.
There should be no signs of crushing or wear all along the sheath.
