InPro 7100 (i) Conductivity Sensors
2. Each conductivity sensor in the InPro 7100 i
series has an integrated NTC temperature sen-
sor. InPro 7100 series has an integrated Pt1000
temperature sensor (IEC 751 Class A).
3. The nominal cell constant is 0.31 cm
exact value is printed on the certificate.
4. An addition factor is also noted on the certifi-
cate. If a M300 or M400 transmitter is used:
– InPro 7100 i: this factor is automatically
– InPro 7100: this factor must be entered un-
5. The cell constant of each sensor is measured
individually and printed on the accompanying
quality certificate. All calibrations must be
traceable to NIST and / or ASTM standards.
6. Install the conductivity sensor such that the
medium is in direct contact with the electrodes.
Any other installation is a risk of air inclusions
or the formation of hard contaminant deposits.
The conductivity cell should ideally be installed
with a distance of at least 30 mm between the
pipe and the end of the conductivity cell.
7. Vertical installation is only possible if the pipe
is filled and there is no possibility of bubble
formation. In case of installation at the side, the
direction of flow should be upward.
8. Note that the measuring range depend strong-
ly on the transmitter that is used.

Operation
For each sensor, the cell constant and temperature
constant have been measured / established indi-
vidually and the values documented in the accom-
panying Quality Certificate. In general, the cell
constants and temperature constant will no
change. It is not necessary to perform sensor cell
constant correction or calibration with standard
solutions. However, depends on plant operating
procedure, cell constant can be verified / corrected
after the period of initial calibration has expired by
using conductivity standard solutions.
6
Maintenance
Contaminated conductivity sensor can give false
indications. If contamination is suspected, dismount
the conductivity sensor and clean the electrodes
and the insulation between the electrodes with a
soft cloth. A mild detergent or a highly diluted solu-
tion (less than 0.5% by weight) of an acid, such
as nitric acid, is suitable to use as a cleaning solu-
tion (always handle acids with caution!).
