3. Installation of the bike carrier on the trailer coupling
Warning: When you install the coupling bike carrier on the trailer coupling of your vehicle, the
engine must be shut off, the ignition switched off, and the hand brake activated!
• Before the installation of the bike carrier, ensure that the device for the automatic opening of
the rear flap is switched off, if your vehicle is equipped with this.
• The accessory or the load can impair the functionality of the rear window wiper. In these cases,
the rear window wiper should be dismantled.
• In installing the bike carrier, maintain a sufficient distance between the bike carrier and the
exhaust pipe of the vehicle.
• Do not attach the metal strips to glass and plastic surfaces.
• Clean the ball of the trailer coupling free of oils, grease, and contamination before you install
the coupling bike carrier.
• Clean the contact surfaces of the vehicle before you install the carrier in order to avoid damages
to the body.
To securely install the bike carrier and to avoid damages to the vehicle, it is recommended that
you ask another person for help.
The work steps shown in figures A-B-C-D-E-F (page 7-9) must be carried out one after another.
Setting of the lever clamp force:
In buying this product, an initial configuration must be undertaken in all cases. Then, the clamp
force must be inspected with each new use and adjusted if needed. To prevent accidents and
damages, another person should be asked for help in this process, as well. After the unlocking
and raising of the lever (1-2 Fig. A / page 7), the bike carrier must be kept in a horizontal position
by the second person. The screw must be set with the included key so that the clamp force on
the lever increases to at least 45 kg (2-3 Fig. B / page 7). Make sure that the bike carrier does not
turn with a closed fastening device.
Warning: After the assembly, be sure to check the electrical connections between the vehicle and
the coupling bike carrier (rear lights, brake lights, blinkers, etc.).
Note: Before the first drive, attach a licence plate on the carrier which is the same as the licence
plate of your vehicle.
Warning: After you have installed the bike carrier on your vehicle, ensure through pulling and
turning it that it is well attached.
4. Positioning and attachment of bicycles to the bike carrier
Warning: When you attach a bicycle to the coupling bike carrier, the engine must be shut off, the
ignition switched off, and the hand brake activated. The vehicle must be horizontal.
For wheels with carbon frames or forks, always ask the manufacturer or retailer to ensure that
your model may be transported with the carrier.
Position the largest and heaviest bicycle on the bike carrier first, place the wheels in the wheel cut-out,
and hang the bicycle on the shortest arm (1 Fig. G / page 11). Fix the wheels with the belts contained in
the scope of delivery (2 Fig. G / page 11). Repeat these processes (1-2 Fig. G / page 11) for the second
bicycle. The first and the second bicycle are fixed with the attachment arms (1 Fig. G / page 11)
on the mounting bracket. whereas the third bike is secured to the second bike with fixing arm
(3 Fig. G1 / page 11). If your bicycle projects too far over the wheel supports, please use both of the
adapters contained in the scope of delivery (Fig. G2 / page 11).
