Using Fence
The fence supports and guides the workpiece. To provide the best support during routing
operations, the fence faceplates should be as close to the bit as possible without contacting
the bit (typically, about 1/4" [6.3mm] away from the bit).
Moving the Fence Forward and Backward
(Fig.16)
1. Loosen the two fence assembly clamping
knobs.
2. Move the fence assembly forward or
backward along the slots to the desired
position.
3. Tighten the fence assembly clamping knobs.
NOTICE:
For deep cuts, make successive passes and
NEVER cut more than 1/8 inch (3mm) deep
with a single pass.
For wider cuts, make multiple cutting passes
by progressively moving the fence backward
until the desired width of cut is reached.
Sliding the In-feed and Out-feed Fence
Sideways (Fig. 17)
The in-feed fence and out-feed fence can each
slide sideways to extend the fence.
1. Loosen the four sideways clamping knobs.
2. Slide the faceplate of each fence to the
desired position.
3. Tighten the sideways clamping knobs.
WARNING
