3 Connecting and operating
3.1 Winding off the cord, setting up and connecting
WARNING:
Risk of injury! Check the appliance and its power cord before every use. A damaged appliance must never be
used.
CAUTION:
Only use the appliance if you have made sure that all the filters are properly in place and no openings are blocked.

3.2 Activating the remote control
NOTE:
The remote control is already equipped with a battery. A plastic strip prevents the battery from discharging when
it is not yet active.

1. Make sure that the location for installation meets all the re-
quirements in Zchapter 2.2, „Selecting the location for installa-
tion".
2. Make sure that the socket which you intend to use carries the
same electrical voltage as that shown on the type plate on the
underside of the appliance.
3. Only unwind the sufficient length of cord from the cord winder
in the base (Fig. 2) so that you can connect the plug to the near-
est socket.
4. Wind the rest of the cord back up.
You can make all the settings either on the appliance or using the re-
mote control which is included in the scope of delivery. Before using
the remote control for the first time, you have to activate it as follows:
1. Unpack the remote control.
2. Pull the plastic strip from the battery compartment to activate
the battery.
3. Control the appliance either with the remote control or using
the buttons on the appliance.
