3. Safety Instructions for Spray Guns

Caution! Wear breathing equipment: Paint mist and solvent vapours are damaging to
health. Always wear breathing equipment and only work in well ventilated rooms or
using supplementary ventilating equipment. It is advisable to wear working clothing,
safety glasses, ear protection and gloves.
CAUTION: DANGER OF INJURY!
Never point the spray stream towards human beings or animals.
CAUTION Risk of explosion!
When spraying flammable coating materials and when vapours from
coating materials and solvents are produced independently, flammable
gases can be produced in the area of work. When spraying there shall be
no sources of ignition anywhere, e.g. naked flame, smoking cigarettes,
sparks, glowing wires, light switches, electrical devices, hot surfaces and
engines. The electrically operated spraying device contains potential
ignition sources itself.
CAUTION Risk of explosion!
Set up the spray device at least 5 metres outside of the hazard zone. Inside
buildings the hazard zone is the room in which you are spraying and outside,
it refers to the area one metre around the object being sprayed (automobile).

The device may not be used in establishments that are subject to explosion
prevention regulations.

To avoid the hazard of explosion when spraying, provide for effective natural or
artificial ventilation.
•
Always switch off the car engine and allow it to cool down completely before
spraying.
•
Only connect spray device to electrical sockets that are outside of the hazard zone.
