5| USING THE APPLIANCE FOR
THE FIRST TIME
A few additional information before use:
A stainless-steel strainer insert in the pour
spout ensures that larger limescale parti-
cles are kept back when pouring, to keep
the water clear and optimize the taste of
your hot beverage.
Any surplus length of the connecting cable
can be wound at the bottom of the base
part.
Before using your WMF MASTER Water Ket-
tle for the first time, we recommend thoroughly
cleaning the inside (see "Cleaning and care"
chapter).
1| Connect the mains plug to an earthed socket.
2| Add the desired amount of water (min. 200
ml, max. 1,200 ml).
WARNING:
If the kettle is not filled with enough
water, the overheating protection auto-
matically deactivates the heating ele-
ments. The display shows "---". In this
case, allow the appliance to cool down
before using it again.
Too much water may cause hot water to
boil over, which can cause serious inju-
ries or burns.
3| Place the kettle (6) on the base (7) in any
position.
4| Press the On/off button (8). The LED light
ring (11) around the rotary knob (9) is light-
ing up, and the LED screen (10) displays the
last used temperature.
5| Select the desired temperature by turn-
ing the knob (9) and click on it to confirm
and start the heating process. The sym-
bol "heating" (13) blinks to signify that the
temperature is not reached yet. Once it is
reached, the symbol stays lit.
NOTE
Do not use the water from the first boiling pro-
cess for food preparation.

5.1| KEEP WARM FUNCTION
For extra convenience, this function keeps the
water at the selected temperature for up to 30
minutes after heating.
As soon as the water reaches the desired tem-
perature, the keep warm time starts automat-
ically.
To activate or deactivate the keep warm func-
tion, press the rotary knob (9) for over 3 sec-
onds The corresponding symbol (12) is on when
the mode is activated, and out when not.
The function is currently running, when the
keep warm symbol is on and the boiled water
symbol light is continuous.

5.2| SOUND SETTINGS
Double click on the rotary knob (9) to reach
the setting mode. The settings symbol (14) will
appear on the display (10), with a certain level
of sound volume (by default L3). Turn the rotary
knob (9) to set the volume higher or lower and
press it to confirm.
5.3| TEMPERATURE UNIT SETTING
Double click on the rotary knob (9) to reach
the setting mode, then once again to reach the
temperature unit setting mode. Choose between
°F and °C with the rotary knob (9) and press to
confirm.
6| CLEANING AND CARE
After use, remove the mains plug and allow the
device to cool down. Do not immerse the device
in water, but rather clean them with a damp
cloth with a little washing-up fluid and then
dry off.
Do not use any sharp and abrasive cleaning
agents.
The pot (6) is made of stainless steel. Should
rust spots nevertheless appear, they are only
deposits adhered to the surface. They should
be removed immediately with a stainless steel
cleanser.
The strainer insert (3) in the pour spout can be
removed for cleaning when the lid is open. To
do so, press its upper clip upward. When insert-
ing, place the strainer (3) in the middle of the
base and then snap it forward into place.
Descaling
Please descale your appliance regularly using a
high-quality commercial descaling agent. Fol-
low the manufacturer's instructions, particularly
with regard to the subsequent cleaning with
clear water, which is essential! Suitable descal-
ing agents contain inhibitors that protect appli-
ances against damage to seals and surfaces, do
not cause additional deposits and have no taste.
Do not use descaling agents that are unsuitable
for your appliance (such as substances based
purely on vinegar or citric acid). Our warranty
does not cover damage caused by using unsuit-
able descaling agents or failure to follow the
descaling instructions. Please keep descaling
agents out of reach of children and make sure
you do not inhale any of the steam given off
during descaling.
7| CAUSES FOR MALFUNCTIONS
If the pouring behaviour worsens/
diminishes:
Check the strainer (3) and descale/clean the strainer
if necessary.
Device switches off before boiling:
Bottom of the pot is too strongly calcified;
it is not filled with enough water.
Device does not switch off:
Lid (1) is not closed.
Device will not switch on:
The device has not sufficiently cooled down
following operation with no or too little water.
Before any further usage, the kettle must be taken
from the base (7) and put back on again.
If it is not possible to fix this problem, submit
the device for repair.
