•
Never approach the winch, hook, or cable if someone else is at the controls.
•
Always be certain the anchor point can withstand the load and will not slip or fail.
•
Protect the wireless remote from any possibility of accidental operation.
•
Never apply load to a wire rope if it is kinked as doing so will deform or fracture the
wire strands and cause permanent damage.
2. PHYSICAL INSTALLATION
WARNING: correct installation of your winch is vital for correct and safe operation.
2.1 INSTALLING CONTROL BOX (recommended before fitting winch to vehicle)
•
When mounting on a 4x4 with a possibility of deep water wading it is good practice
to remote mount the control box up under the bonnet to protect the electrics from
water.
•
The control box can be mounted on the winch in two positions to give greater
flexibility when mounting the winch.
On Cross Bars
Using the four M6 machine screws
provided, secure the control box at each
corner through the shaped brackets
(Fig A).
Offset Over Motor
To convert to over motor mounting first
undo the fixing screws to remove the
two bottom brackets (Fig B1). Use the
same fixing screws to secure the supplied
mounting bracket to the motor housing
(Fig B2).
Then use two of the supplied M6 machine
screws to secure the bracket into the
two threaded holes on the motor side of
the crossbar (Fig B3). The remaining two
screws can be used to cap the threaded
holes on the other side of the cross bars.
