• To remove the box, lift up the safety handle again and slide the box out of the base frame.
6.0 USING THE APPLIANCE FOR THE FIRST TIME
NOTE: Always use the correct mains voltage!
The mains voltage must correspond to the specification on the type plate of the unit. The machine
should be supplied via a residual current device (RCD) with a tripping current of no more than 30
mA. An extension cable with too small a cross-section leads to a significant reduction in the
device's performance. For cables with a length of up to 25 m, a cross-section of at least 3 x 1.5
mm² is required; for cables with a length of more than 25 m, the cross-section must be at least
2.5 mm².
IMPORTANT! The main AC power supply may experience a voltage drop when the appliance is
started. This may affect other devices. Contact your local power supply specialist for more
information if necessary.
6.1 ON/OFF SWITCH
• To switch on the shredder, press the on/off switch (C) so it is set to 'I'.
• To switch off, press the on/off switch (C) so it is set to '0'.
NOTE: The machine is equipped with a safety switch to prevent unintentional restarting after
power interruption.
Never carry or move the machine with your finger on the on/off switch. Make sure that the
appliance is switched off when you insert the plug into the socket.
Wait until the shredder has reached its working speed before feeding in material.
6.2 QUICK STOP
The electric motor is equipped with a safety brake and stops within 5 seconds of being switched
off. As a result, the blades also stop rotating.
6.3 MOTOR PROTECTION
Overloading (e.g. if the blades are blocked or the cutting material is too thick) will cause the
appliance to stop after a few seconds. The motor protection switch automatically cuts off the
power supply to protect the motor from damage.
Wait at least 1 minute before restarting the shredder by pressing the on/off switch (C).
If the motor protection has been triggered, proceed as follows and check the hopper:
IMPORTANT! Always wear safety gloves!
• Unplug the mains plug.
• Unscrew the housing locking screw (A) and open the main housing.
• Clean the cutting and ejection area. Remove any branches or objects that could block the
blades.
• Close the main housing and tighten the housing locking screw (A).
• Press the on/off switch (C) to restart.
