5.1.1. Checking Delivery Contents
Check the delivery contents upon or immediately after delivery so that any damage can be reported immediately.
Proceed as follows to check the delivery contents:
1. Open the package and check contents for completeness using the enclosed delivery note. If external transport dam-
age is visible, open the delivery package in the presence of the delivery person and check the HG-VCI S 20 for hidden
damage. In a damage report, have the delivery person record any damage to the delivery package and damage to the
HG-VCI S 20.
2. Remove the HG-VCI S 20 from the packaging.
CAUTION
Danger of short circuit due to loose parts in or on the HG-VCI S 20
Risk of irreparable damage to the HG-VCI S 20 and vehicle electronics
Never operate the HG-VCI S 20 if you suspect that there are loose parts in or on the device. If this is the
case, immediately contact the Hella Gutmann repair service or a Hella Gutmann trading partner.
3. Check the HG-VCI S 20 for mechanical damage. Shake it gently to check for loose parts inside.
5.2. Intended Use
The mega macs S 20 is a system for troubleshooting and correcting faults in vehicle electronic systems. It was developed
especially for mobile display units with an Android operating system.
It uses a diagnostic interface to establish a connection to the automotive electronics and to provide access to descriptions
of the vehicle system. A lot of this data is transferred to the tablet directly from the Hella Gutmann diagnostic database via
online connection.
mega macs S 20 is not suitable for repairing electric machines and devices or home electric systems. Devices from other
manufacturers are not supported.
