5.0 Servicing and Fan cleaning
Servicing of the fan should normally be carried out if necessary and the manufacturer recommend
once a year.
Service procedure – to be carried out by suitably qualified persons.
ImPoRTANT : Do NoT attempt to:
•
Lubricate the motor
•
Interfere with the settings on the pressure switch, (fig.10)
•
Spray any part of the power flue with WD40 or any other similar penetrating product
1.
Check the fan is operating correctly before service.
2.
Isolate power supply.
3.
Remove outer cover, (fig.9)
4.
Remove the fan unit using the 3 wing nuts and earth cable (see installation procedure)
5.
Carefully inspect the fan for loose chafed wiring and corrosion that may affect performance.
Replace if necessary.
6.
Clean the fan blades, in some cases it may be necessary to scrape material from the blades,
care should be taken not to damage any part of the fan.
7.
Re fit the fan ensuring the earth connection is properly connected.
8.
Disconnect the pressure tubes, (fig.10), Note their position! And restart the fan to clear any
remaining loose debris.
9.
Reconnect the pressure tubes and refit cover and test.
