Fitting the battery
Batteries should not be handled by children.
Batteries should be regarded as waste which requires special
handling and so should not be included with general domestic
refuse.!
Observe correct polarity when fitting batteries!
In order to prevent damage to the device due to leaking batteries,
remove the batteries from the device if you do not need it for a
prolonged period of time.
For the same reason, it is advisable to remove empty batteries
straight away.
Do not leave batteries lying around because of the danger that
they may be swallowed by children or pets! Seek immediate medi-
cal help should swallowing occur!
Take care that batteries are not short-circuited or thrown into fire.
They must also not be recharged. Danger of explosion!
Leaking or damaged batteries can cause irritation if they contact
the skin, therefore use suitable protective gloves for these.
Loosen the fastening screw for the bat-
tery compartment cover (18) on the back
of the device.
Open the battery compartment(17).
Remove the connection clip from the
battery compartment and connect a new
9V dry cell battery observing the correct
polarity.
Insert the battery into the battery com-
partment and replace the battery com-
partment cover (17). Screw the battery
compartment cover on again tightly with
the fastening screw (18).
When the battery is run down, the bat-
tery warning indication appears in the
bottom left of the display (2) and the ent-
ire display starts to flash. In this case,
replace the battery with a new one, as
described above.

The battery will only fit on the battery clip
with the correct polarity. Please do not
use any force when connecting.
Take care not to crush the battery
connecting line.
In the interest of a long battery life, only
alkaline battery types should be used.
