Maintenance
Regularly check the technical safety of the 340 sound level meter, for example for
damage to the connecting cables and to the housing.
If it can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible, then the device must
be switched off and protected against unintentional operation. Remove the battery!
It is to be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible, if:
• the instrument shows visible signs of damage
• the unit no longer functions
• after prolonged storage under unfavourable conditions or
• after severe transport stress
The outside of the unit should only be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth or brush. Never
use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions, because these may corrode
the housing or impair operation.
Before cleaning the unit, observe the following safety information without fail:
Switch off the device and remove the battery.
Maintenance or repair may only be performed by a specialist fami-
liar with the associated dangers and relevant regulations!
Disposal
Dispose of an unusable device in accordance with the applicable statutory regulati-
ons.
Environmental information!
It is the user's statutory duty (old battery regulation) to return all
used batteries (from disposable batteries to rechargeable and
even lead-acid batteries). Disposal together with general dome-
stic waste is forbidden.
Used batteries of any type can be returned both to our subsi-
diaries and to our headquarters in Hirschau, Germany, free of
charge and, as previously, also to communal disposal centres
(recycling yards) which are obliged to accept them.
