Installation in open areas with low construction height - fig. D3
If the area only allows for a low construction height, a sensor, which has
EN
a sensor cable at the side of the sensor casing can be used. Its height is
only 31 mm. Take care not to damage the sensor when constructing the
DE
open surface area, e.g. by an excessive asphalt processing temperature
(>75°C) or by mechanical load due to the use of compactors. Use a
FR
suitable protective tube (DN20 in plastic or steel) to ease installation and
protect the sensor cable.
NL
Installation in driveways - fig. D4
DA
In driveways (e.g. an entrance to an underground parking lot) the sensor
FI
should ideally be mounted mid-way between the heating cable runs.

Installation on the mounting bracket - fig. D5
A mounting bracket made of zinc is included in the package of the
CZ
E650C-R sensor. It is also available as a spare part accessory to be ordered
separately. There is also a separate variant of the bracket made of copper
LT
available as a spare part accessory (to be ordered separately, not included
PL
in the package of the E650C-R sensor). The mounting bracket enables better
fixing and positioning of the sensor.
RU
Note for material compatibility: If the mounting bracket is to be used in a
copper gutter, the variant E650C-R-BRACKET-CU made of copper is available
IT
for this case. Only with gutters made of plastic there are no material
compatibility restrictions and E650C-R-BRACKET-ZN can be used.
ZH
When installing the sensor in the bracket, first bend the rear part of the
HU
bracket to fit the rear part of the sensor onto it, then unscrew the plastic
screw and remove one of the plastic washers and bend the front part
of the bracket, then insert the thread into the hole created by bending
the bracket, put the plastic washer back on and screw in the screw. In
this way, the front of the bent bracket should be between the two plastic
washers. The plastic washers, screw and sensor support rings are
included in the kit and can be found already mounted on the sensor (they
are all UV resistant). Next, attach the mounting bracket to a gutter or flat
roof. The mounting bracket can be attached to gutters or flat roofs using
special mounting adhesives made from roofing materials (you can also
use our GM-SEAL-02 adhesive for this purpose).
Installation in a gutter or on a flat rooftop - fig. D6 and D7
The sensor must be installed in such a way that melting water runs
off across the sensor. It should be located as close as possible to the
downpipe or the gutter.
Wiring sensors to Elexant 650c-Modbus
Connect the sensor cable according to the wiring diagram (at the back of
the manual).
Sensor extension
If necessary, the sensor cable may be extended. Maximum extension
length for E650C-R sensor is 140 meters (with 1 mm
extension lengths for E650C-G sensor are 110 meters (with 1 mm
and 130 meters (with 1.5 mm
already the length of the cable that is attached to the sensor in the box.
Commissioning of the sensors
To check the correct operation of the sensor, you can check the
resistance at the sensor terminals and compare with the resistance
and temperature table for the E650C-G and E650C-R sensors. To check
the humidity indication, use ice spray / a bit of water on the surface of
the sensors and check if the humidity indication changes from - - (no
moisture) to some number value from 1 to 10 (minimum sensitivity is
10, maximum sensitivity is 1). Please keep in mind that the controller is
doing a measurement check every 30 minutes or when switched on so to
