The slides on the apron can by moved by hand by means of a hand wheel and automatically by means of
handles. Push the lever A up to enable automatic longitudinal travel, push it down to enable automatic cross
travel. If the lever is placed in the middle position, the longitudinal or cross travel is made possible by using the
hand wheel.
Push lever B down to close the nut of the lead screw. This will enable thread cutting.
6.4 Change gears

The change gears are located left of the gear box. They can be reached by removing the cover. The
intermediate gears are placed on an adjustable swing frame (M). The change gears are used when cutting
thread and adjusting feeds.
Clean the gears thoroughly and lubricate them regularly with oil or grease. Play may not be more than .127
mm.
7. Using the machine
7.1 Selecting spindle speed

When the machine is active, push the lever on the headstock to the left to select a spindle speed of 30-550
RPM, push it to the right to obtain a spindle speed of 550-3000 RPM.

A feed and thread cutting table can be found on the front of the gear box. Place lever Y in position A to enable
course thread cutting, in position B for fine thread cutting.
Warning
At a speed of more than 770 RPM, lever Y may never be placed in position A.
The following thread cutting ranges and numbers are possible:
Metrical: 39 with a range of 0.2 – 14 mm
Whitworth: 45 with a range of 2 – 72 TPI
The following feeds are available:
Longitudinal feed with a range of 0.043-0.653 mm
Cross feed with a range of 0.027 – 0.413 mm
