Installation and connection

Preparing for installation
Installation
For secure fastening, the BTL must be screwed to all 6
mounting holes using cylinder screws (ISO 4762,
M6×16 - A2-70) (Torque: 3.5 Nm).
Installation variants
a) Installation in non-magnetizable material
We recommend using non-magnetizable material to mount
the BTL and position magnet.

b) Installation in magnetizable material
If using magnetizable material, the BTL must be protected
against magnetic interference through suitable measures
(e.g. spacer ring made of non-magnetizable material, a
suitable distance from strong external magnetic fields).

Installation notes
Hydraulic cylinder: If installed in a hydraulic cylinder,
the position magnet should not make contact with the rod.
Minimum
bore diameter in the support piston:
Rod diameter
10.2 mm
Tab. 5-1:

Horizontal mounting: For horizontal mounting with
measuring lengths > 500 mm, the rod must be supported
and, if necessary, screwed on at the end.
Mounting hole: The mounting surface of the BTL must
make full contact with the supporting surface. A suitable
O-ring must completely seal the bore, i.e. the countersink
for the O-ring must be produced according to Fig. 5-3.
