11. Maintenance
The unit must be overhauled on a periodic basis to check the status of its components and
replace these when they are not in perfect condition.
In order to obtain the best possible results, ALWAYS USE ORIGINAL
SAGOLA SPARES THAT GUARANTEE TOTAL INTERCHANGEABILITY,
SAFETY AND PERFECT OPERATION.
In order to carry out maintenance or repairs, first disconnect the unit from the compressed air
distribution network.
Do not apply excessive force or inadequate tools for maintaining and cleaning the unit.
Some repairs must be done with special tools on some occasions. In these cases, you must
contact the Customer Service of SAGOLA.
Do not use graphite greases as they dry out the joints, altering
their operation.
Never work with the unit empty in order to avoid premature
wear of the packing gland soft the stuffing box and piston.
If required, every day check and grease by means of grease
nipple (No.29) for the maintenance and lubrication of the
packing gland. The service life of the unit depends on this
greasing process.
Every time there is a leak through the packing gland (No.16),
this must be re-tightened with the special rods supplied for this
purpose, with the unit draining (without pressure). Tighten until
the leak is eliminated. Then tighten a + turn more.
Do not tighten the packing gland excessively as this will produce a
premature wear of the packing gland stuffing boxes.
Any handling of this product by non-authorised personnel would render the warranty null and void.
