Child safety
• This device may only be used under adult supervision.
• Feeding from the teat (not included in delivery for the BY 40) continuously and for long periods can lead to tooth decay.
• Use the teat (not included in delivery for the BY 40) for feeding, not as a pacifier.
• Always check the temperature of the milk before feeding.
• Dispose of the device at the first sign of damage or reduced performance.
• Store unused components out of the reach of children.
• Inspect the device before each use and pull the teat (not included in delivery for the BY 40) in all directions.
• Dispose of the teat at the first sign of damage or wear and tear.
• Do not expose the teat (not included in delivery for the BY 40) to direct sunlight or heat and do not disinfect in boiling water for longer
than recommended, as this may damage the teat.
• Keep the teat (not included in delivery for the BY 40) away from sweet substances as these may cause tooth decay.
• Do not use any abrasives or anti-bacterial cleaning agents.
• Clean all parts that come into contact with the breast milk for five minutes in boiling water.
• Clean the device before each use.
• Make sure that the temperature of the liquid in the bottle never exceeds 50°C.
• If the nipple is inflamed (mastitis), do not feed the expressed milk to your child.

Notes on handling batteries
• If your skin or eyes come into contact with battery fluid, rinse the a ected areas with water and seek medical assistance.
Choking hazard! Small children may swallow and choke on batteries. Therefore, store batteries out of the reach of small children!
• Observe the plus (+) and minus (−) polarity signs.
• If a battery has leaked, put on protective gloves and clean the battery compartment with a dry cloth.
• Protect batteries from excessive heat.
Risk of explosion! Do not throw batteries into a fire.
• Do not charge or short-circuit the batteries.
• If the device is not going to be used for a long period of time, remove the batteries from the battery compartment.
• Leaking batteries may damage the device.
• Use identical or equivalent battery types only.
• Always replace all batteries at the same time.
• Never use rechargeable batteries!
• Do not disassemble, open or crush the batteries.

• Bacterial contamination of pump components with outbreak of serial infections
• Contaminated breast milk
• Breast infection due to contaminated breast pump components
• Uncomfortable feeling in the breast
• Pain in the breast
• Damaged breast tissue (e.g. through long, uninterrupted periods of suction)
• Inflamed breast tissue
• Sore nipples, injury and pain
• Nursing woman feels fatigued
• Breast implant seroma
• Mastitis if the breast pump has insu cient suction
• Inflamed breast due to excessive suction pressure
• Contact dermatitis
Consult your doctor if you experience any undesirable side e ects.
