3. INTENDED PURPOSE
Intended use
The Beurer BY 40 Breast Pump is designed exclusively for nursing women and enables them to express their breast milk easily, in the comfort
of their own homes or whilst on the move.
Target group
The breast pump must be used exclusively by nursing women for expressing breast milk. The breast pump is only intended for domestic/
private use, not for commercial use.
Clinical benefits
The breast pump enables a build-up of milk to be prevented through targeted expressing of breast milk.
In addition, breast pumps help to prevent cracked or sore nipples.
The breast pump also makes it easier to express breast milk from flat or inverted nipples.
Indication
If a nursing woman's breast is not drained su ciently, this can lead to a painful build-up of milk, which in the worst-case scenario could cause
inflammation of the nipple (mastitis). Expressing breast milk can alleviate pain caused by a build-up of milk.
