1. Hold the file horizontally (at the correct angle to the
chainsaw guide bar (14)) and file in accordance with
the angle marking on the file holder. Support the file
holder on the top plate and the depth limiter.
2. Always file the cutting link from the inside out.
3. The file only sharpens as it moves forward. Lift the
file off as you move backwards.
4. Do not touch the drive links or fastening links with
the file.
5. Turn the file regularly to avoid wear on one side.
6. Use a piece of hard wood to remove the burr from
cutting edges.
All cutting links must have the same length, otherwise
they will also be of different heights. This causes the
saw chain (15) to run erratically and increases the dan-
ger of breaking.
14 Storage and transport
Store the product and its accessories in a dark, dry and
frost-free place that is inaccessible to children.
The optimum storage temperature is between 5°C and
30˚C.
Store the product in its original packaging.
Cover the product to protect it from dust or moisture.
Store the operating manual with the product.
14.1
Preparation for storage
1. Remove the battery.
2. Attach all protective covers.
3. Empty the product completely.
4. Clean and check the product for damage.

Transport
WARNING
Danger of injury!
Remove the battery from the power tool before carry-
ing out any work on the power tool (e.g. maintenance,
tool change, etc.) and when transporting and storing
it. There is a risk of injury if the on/off switch is oper-
ated unintentionally.
• The product may only be transported on the handle
provided for this purpose.
15 Repair & ordering spare parts
With this product, it is necessary to note that the follow-
ing parts are subject to natural or usage-related wear,
or that the following parts are required as consumables.

Such work should be performed by a customer ser-
vice centre or an authorised specialists. The same
applies to accessory parts.
