7. Deactivation of the safety function

To carry out certain operations (e.g. muting) the safety function of
the evaluation unit G15004 can be deactivated by means of suitable
wiring measures (e.g. via a keylock switch at the inputs E1/E2 and
E3/E4).
In this case the "Important notes on the deactivation of the safety
function" (page 15) must be observed.
To avoid cable short circuits which can lead to the loss of the safety
function, e.g. due to crushed cable, the cables to the keylock switch
must be laid so that they are protected against damage.
For muting only the use of a keylock switch approved to EN 60947-5-
1 is allowed.
To deactivate the safety function the
connections E1/E2 and E3/E4 must be
shorted (e.g. via a keylock switch).
A faulty connection leads to destruction
of the unit. Repair of the evaluation unit
is liable to cost.
If the safety function is deactivated, the
red LED B4 is lit.
To reactivate the safety function, the
supply voltage of the evaluation unit
must be briefly switched off and on again
after quitting this operating mode (e.g.
by means of a pushbutton in the supply
cable).
