BEFORE STARTING
It is very important to make sure that you do not pick
up any objects that could injure you or damage the
machine, especially hot or abrasive objects.
You should also be especially careful not to spill any
material that could cause injury or damage. As you
get used to working with the machine, you will gain
technique and confidence, as well as efficiency.
Consider loosening materials such as leaves that
are stuck to a surface with a broom or rake before
attempting to move them. Under certain conditions,
the blower can produce a lot of dust; it can be
reduced by slightly moistening the surface to be
treated or by postponing the operation to another
time.
If you are working in hot weather, be sure to drink
enough. Regular breaks will help prevent problems
that can be caused by vibration. Use the friction
accelerator so that your finger does not stay too
long in a frozen position. Also, be sure to continually
adjust your grip and keep it firm but not too tight.
Keeping your machine clean and in good working
order will help ensure your safety while using it;
therefore please refer to the maintenance guide in
this manual.
Under no circumstances
can the engine be started
been fully assembled for
use and if safety has not
During a safety check, open the air intake cover and
do not operate the machine if you see any cracks or
damage to the fan blades or if the mulcher blades
are loose. Using the tools provided with the
machine, check that all fasteners are secure, that
the throttle operates smoothly and that there is no
fuel leakage.
Open the spark plug cover by lifting it up and press
down on the rubber cap to check the connection to
the spark plug terminal. Finally, check that nothing
is blocking the blowing or suction hoses and that
they are secure. If you are using the machine in
vacuum / mulcher mode, check that the zipper of
the collection bag is properly closed.
START-UP
Be sure to only work in a safe area. Wearing the
necessary protective equipment, position the
machine on the ground, hold it firmly with one hand
and with the other hand, pull the starter cord (see
starting instructions). Warning: if the machine is in
blower mode, it will immediately disperse objects
placed near the end of the tube.
if the machine has not
been verified.
Operation in blower mode
In this mode, the machine is designed to be used
with one hand. The operator can control the power
with the finger or use the friction accelerator
ensuring a constant engine speed.
The machine should be moved left to right in a
smooth sweeping motion as the operator moves
forward. Each task can be different and it is normal
to develop a suitable method. For example, it is
often faster and more efficient to blow the leaves
into small heaps for picking up later rather than
wanting to create a single huge heap. While
working, it is essential to remain aware of your
surroundings to avoid accidents.
Operation in suction mode
In vacuum mode, the machine collects, crushes and
deposits the materials in the zipped bag. The
operator supports the bag by means of the
adjustable shoulder strap and empties it regularly
through the zipped opening to avoid any risk of
obstruction. In this mode, the machine is designed
to be used with two hands and the movement
required for the collecting process is generally
slower than when blowing. If you notice a decrease
in machine efficiency or a change in engine
vibration, the ventilation channels may be blocked.
Immediately stop the machine by placing the red
button on the upper handle to OFF and empty the
collection bag. While it is open, check to see if the
curved pipe that connects it to the powerhead is not
clogged and if it is, release it by pulling on the
material with a gloved hand. If it is not clogged,
remove the manifold tubes and inspect them and
the blower / grinder area behind the air intake cover.
It is essential that all air ducts are unobstructed for
the machine to function properly. It may be
necessary to disassemble the tubes to gain full
