Chapter 2: CarDetector Mobile Configuration and Use
2.4.2.4
Setting the Linked Zone Location
The Linked Zone tab allows you to link multiple existing locations to share common digital chalking rules
without losing the individual existing rules of the location. Each location can maintain separate lists of
permitted vehicles (vehicles on an Authorized List) while sharing a digital chalking rule.
NOTE: For example, three locations have separate lists of permitted vehicles (Authorized Lists) but all
three locations follow the same digital chalking rule that allows a maximum of two hours of parking.
Each location can be created with its own Authorized List, and then be configured to share the two-hour
limit rule.
Procedure:
To display the Geo-Zone, excessive parking alert rules, and digital chalking schedule associated with it,
select a location from the list.
2.4.3
Importing Hot Lists
Procedure:
1. To locate the Hot List file, select Browse.
2. To import a Hot List template, select Import.
NOTE: The template defines the structure of the Hotlist file and must be correctly selected for
the given Hotlist.
3. Select the Hot List template from the Select A Template drop-down menu.
After the Hot List is successfully imported, the Alert level, Application, and Expiration settings become
available.
4. If desired, check the checkbox next to Assign Alert Level and select an optional alert level.
5. In the Application drop-down menu, select whether to add the new Hot List as new, replace an
existing Hot List, or to remove an existing Hot List.
6. To set an expiration for the Hot List, select the check box next to Make Inactive after.
