An expert is someone who, due
to his/her professional training
and experience has sufficient
knowledge in the area of fasten-
ing devices and is familiar with

health and safety regulations,
accident prevention regulations,
directives and generally accepted
rules of technology (e.g. CEN or
CENELEC standards) to the extent
that he/she can assess the opera-
tional safety of fastening devices.
