MAINTENANCE
2.7
SERVICING THE FLUID SECTION
Perform the following steps before performing any
i
maintenance on the fluid section.
Before proceeding, follow the Pressure Relief
Procedure outlined previously in this manual.
Additionally, follow all other warnings to reduce
the risk of an injection injury, injury from moving
parts or electric shock. Always unplug the sprayer
before servicing!
1.
Make sure the pump is turned ON (l) and the pressure control
knob is set to low pressure.
2.
Engage the pump's Creep Mode (the following steps A-B must
be completed in quick succession). This will make it easier to
place the eccentric and piston into its lowest position, which is
needed for servicing the fluid section.
A In quick succession, with the pressure control knob set
to low pressure, turn the pressure control knob to high
pressure two (2) times, ending in low pressure.
(e.g. start at Low => up to High => back to Low => up to
High => back to Low)
B Slowly turn the pressure control knob clockwise until you
can see and hear that the piston is moving very slowly.
3.
When the piston gets to the bottom dead center position, turn
the pressure control knob fully counterclockwise to low pressure
until the piston stops moving.
4.
Turn the power switch OFF (0) and unplug the sprayer.
5.
Skid / Low Rider units - Remove the retaining clip from the bottom
of the pusher stem housing. Remove the siphon assembly.
For High Rider units the siphon tube can remain threaded into
the pusher stem housing.
6.
Tilt the sprayer back for easy access to the fluid section.

REPLACING THE FLUID SECTION
The fluid section can be removed in one unit and
i
replaced. Follow the steps below ONLY if you plan
to replace the entire fluid section.
For any type of servicing to the components of the
fluid section, see sections 2.7.3 and 2.7.4.
1.
Make sure to complete the steps above in section 2.7.
2.
Remove the hose from the rear of the fluid section block.
3.
Remove the pusher stem clip (Fig. 5, item 1) and slide the pusher
stem housing (2) from the foot valve housing (3).
1
4.
Open the latches (Fig. 6, item 4) on either side of the fluid section.
Make sure the locking screws (5) come away from the slots in the
fluid section.
5.
Slide the fluid section forward until the piston rod is out of the
T-slot on the slider assembly and remove the entire fluid section
assembly (6).
6.
Install the new fluid section by reversing the steps above. Follow
the steps in section 2.7.2 to fully secure the new fluid section.
