Safety Precautions
 Please read the following safety precautions carefully before installing the unit to ensure safety.
 To ensure your safety, be sure to observe the precautions described in this section.

 Make sure that this manual is passed on to the end user to retain for future reference.

WARNING
All electric work must be performed by qualified personnel.
Air tightness test must be performed by qualified personnel.
Brazing work must be performed by qualified personnel.

General Precautions
WARNING
Do not use the type of refrigerant other than the
one indicated on the nameplate and in the man-
uals for the unit. Doing so may cause the pipes
or the units to burst or explode, or cause a fire
during use, during repair, or at the time of dis-
posal of the unit. It may also be in violation of ap-
plicable laws. MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC
CORPORATION cannot be held responsible for
malfunctions or accidents resulting from the use
of the wrong type of refrigerant.
This appliance can be used by children aged
from 8 years and above and persons with re-
duced physical, sensory or mental capabilities
or lack of experience and knowledge if they
have been given supervision or instruction con-
cerning use of the appliance in a safe way and
understand the hazards involved. Children shall
not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user
maintenance shall not be made by children
without supervision.
Do not install the unit in a place where large
amounts of oil, steam, organic solvents, or cor-
rosive gases, such as sulfuric gas, are present
or where acidic/alkaline solutions or sprays con-
taining sulfur are used frequently. These sub-
stances can compromise the performance of the
unit or cause certain components of the unit to
corrode, which can result in refrigerant leakage,
water leakage, injury, electric shock, malfunc-
tions, smoke, or fire.
Do not try to defeat the protective features of the
unit or make unauthorized setting changes.
Forcing the unit to operate by defeating the safe-
ty features of the devices such as the pressure
switch or the temperature switch, making unau-
thorized changes to the switch settings, or using
accessories other than the ones recommended
by Mitsubishi Electric may result in smoke, fire,
burst pipes or units, or an explosion.
To reduce the risk of injury from falling tools,
keep children away while installing, inspecting,
or repairing the unit.
The refrigeration system is under high pressure.
Do not tamper with it. Contact qualified service
personnel before disposal.
Tampering with the system may result in refrig-
erant or water leakage, injury, electric shock, or
fire.
