Safety instructions for before and during operation
Before use, always check all parts of the tool for damage and wear. Parts which are placed unde
r severe stress, such as the sanding plate, are particularly sus-
ceptible to breaking off and cracks. The damaged parts must be replaced immediately with new
ones.
Caution! All parts which are subjected to excessive wear, such as sanding plates, belt
s, etc. are not covered by any kind of warranty.
During operation, never set the tool down while the sanding plate is running. The G
ECKO STAR may only be placed down when it has come to a complete stop.
Caution! If you sand over the electrical cable, there is a danger to life through electric s
hock. Never sand towards the cable.
5.5 Approved clothing
Caution! Wear suitable workwear! Do not wear loose clothing whilst operating or working o
n the GECKO STAR. Such clothing may be caught by moving parts.
5.6 Noise emissions from the tool
The following emissions values have been measured for the GECKO STAR parquet edge
sanding machine in accordance with EN 60745: Sound pressure level (L
90,9 dB Under load 92,6 dB Sound power level (L
103,6 dB
Measuring inaccuracy: + / 1.5 dB
The noise generated by using the tool is dependent on various factors. Local conditions, such a
s the size of the room and the properties of the floor surface have an impact on noise emissions.
Caution! Wear ear defenders! The levels of noise generated are damaging to the hearing. Wh
ile operating the tool, you must wear ear defenders. Use the capsule ear defenders which are supplie
d as an accessory.
5.7 Hand/arm vibration
The following vibration levels have been measured, in accordance with EN 60745:
Long sanding plate Vibration emissions value: a
Measuring inaccuracy: K = 1.5 m/s
Short sanding plate
Measuring inaccuracy: K = 1.5 m/s
The vibration level stated corresponds with the principal use of the electrical tool.
If the machine is
used for other purposes, with other insertion tools or if the maintenance is inadequate then the
vibration level may be different. This can increase the vibration loading throughout the
complete working period.
