Instruction Sheet No. A2054-741b
1.
Disconnect the negative terminal from the vehicle battery.
2.
Unclip & remove the harness plug from the MAS (Mass Air Sensor). (Fig. 1)
3.
Unclip & remove the MAS harness from the side of the air box as shown. (Fig. 2)
4.
Unclip & remove the intake hose from the MAS. (Fig. 3&4)
5.
Unclip & remove the air box lid from the air box assembly as shown. (Fig. 5&6)
6.
Remove the two bolts securing the air box base to the slam panel, pull the air box base from its
mounting grommets & remove the base from the vehicle. (Fig. 7&8)
7.
Assemble the saddle bracket / mounting bracket using the Allen head bolt, nylon conical
washer, flat metal washer & nylock nut. (Fig. 9)
8.
Remove the earth bolt from the ECU mounting frame & secure the bracket assembly to the
frame using the M6 bolt & flat washer supplied (do not fully tighten the bolt at this stage).

9.
Carefully unscrew & remove the MAS from the air box lid as shown. (Fig.11 )
10. Stick the foam gasket to the hole located on the new intake pipe. Fit the supplied vent plug into
the intake tube.(Fig.12)
11. Fit the MAS to the intake pipe using the m4 screws and plastic spacers supplied. (Fig.13)
12. Fit the rubber filter adaptor to the end of the intake pipe assembly. (Fig.14)
13. Attach the new intake pipe assembly to the original intake hose & secure using the original
hose clamp. (Fig.15&16)
14. Ensure the new rubber filter adaptor on MAS sits onto the saddle bracket. Place the #64 hose
clip around both the rubber filter adaptor & saddle bracket. Do not tighten the clip at this time.

15. Slide the filter element onto the rubber filter adaptor & tighten the supplied clip (ensure
that hose clamp has been fitted around both saddle bracket & filter neck). (Fig.18&19)
16. Refit the electrical harness plug to the MAS, re-route the harness if necessary. (Fig.20)
17. Position the filter assembly to give maximum clearances & now fully tighten the
mounting bracket assembly.
18. Carefully expand the flexi cold air hose & feed the cold air hose down past the side of the
Engine to the underside of the vehicle. Secure the end of the hose to the sub -frame using a
plastic tie supplied. (Fig.21)
19. Position the other end of the cold air hose to finish approx. 4" / 10cm from the filter.
Ensure sufficient clearances between the hose & drive belt using a plastic tie supplied.

20. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
21. Carry out a final check of the height / alignment of the K&N induction system before starting the
engine. Installation is now complete. (Fig.24)

WARNING:
carry out a final fitment check of the K&N
performance kit. It will be necessary for all
intake systems to be checked periodically
for realignment, clearance and tightening
of all connections. Failure to follow the
above instructions or proper maintenance
may void the warranty.
FILTER MAINTENANCE: K&N suggests
checking the filter periodically for
excessive dirt build-up. W hen the element
becomes covered in dirt (or once a year),
service it according to the instructions on
the Recharger service kit available from
your K&N dealer, part number 99-5000EU.
