1. Lower muffler – Using a 13mm socket, lower muffler by removing (1) bolt from each exhaust hanger, 1 per side. Save bolts for reinstall. NOTE: Use a strap to support exhaust system
before removing hangers.
2. Loosen Bumper Fascia – Using a T30 torx bit, remove (4) screws from bottom edge of bumper fascia. Using trim tool, remove (2) Push-pin fasteners from outer area bottom of fascia near
wheel well. Using a T25 torx bit, remove (8) screws (4 per side) from inside wheel well liner. Save fasteners for reinstall. Gently pull along bottom edge of bumper fascia to check if it
moves down freely.
3. Remove hole covers - Using a flat screwdriver, remove (2) rubber plugs from outside of each frame rail. Remove adhesive tape from bottom rearmost access hole each frame rail.
4. Trim fascia - using a tape measure, marker, and aviation snips, measure, mark, and cut a notch in bottom center of fascia approximately 4-1/2'' tall by 3-1/2" wide area.
See Figure 2. NOTE: Be aware of Hands-Free Antenna and wiring inside fascia. Be careful, DO NOT cut into any wiring.
5. Remove caulking – Using a knife scraper, remove excess caulking from outer surfaces of frame rails so hitch bracket will sit flat against the frame. See figure 3.
6. Modify Exhaust Hangers – Using a cutting tool, remove the two prongs from each exhaust hanger bracket, See figure 4.
7. Install fasteners – Feed coiled end of pull wire through existing hole on outer side of frame rail and out of Access Hole in bottom of frame, (2) per side. Attach the 1/2" carriage bolts and
1/4" spacer blocks to pull wires and pull the fasteners inside the frame rails. Leave pull wires attached. Temporarily leave fasteners inside the frame rails. See figure 1.
8. Install hitch – Raise hitch into position by installing the forward ends of side brackets first with receiver tube angled downward. Feed the all pull wires through mounting holes in hitch.
Gently pull down on bottom edge of fascia, then rotate hitch into position. Align holes in hitch with holes in frame. Pull bolts through hitch and into position. Remove pull wires and
loosely install the conical washers and hex nuts onto carriage bolts, (4) places (2 per side). Torque fasteners to specifications below.
9. Tighten all 1/2-13 Gr5 fasteners with torque wrench to 75 Lb.-Ft. ( 102 N*M)
10. Raise muffler into position - Using factory bolts reinstall exhaust hanger brackets to vehicle.
11. Reattach Bumper Fascia – Reinstall all fasteners to Bumper Fascia removed in Step 2. Reinstall adhesive patch over access holes in bottom of frame.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which
has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. This product complies with safety
