This device is a detector. The indications it provides must not be used for measure-
ment purposes.
2.1. SELF-TEST
Before using the C.A 771, run a self-test. This checks the integrity of the cable and
the test probes, correct operation of the electronic circuit, and a sufficient voltage
level for the batteries.
Connect the red test probe to the + terminal and the black test probe to the L1
terminal.
Bring the two test probes into contact and press the AUTO TEST button. Hold it
down as long as necessary.
If all indicators on the device except ELV light up and the buzzer sounds, the device
is operating properly and is usable.
If every second indicator lights up, the batteries must be replaced (see § 4.2).
