6 - MAINTENANCE
WARNING!
Cutting blade (14) sharpening is the most important operations for ensuring the shear good working. A
well-sharpened blade will guarantee precise clean cuts, low battery (1) consumption and low wear of the
mechanical parts. It is recommended to carry out slight and frequent sharpening operations instead of
heavy and rare ones, in order not to modify the blade geometry.
6.1.3 Cutting blade adjustment
• Choose the SERVICE function by means of the selector (19)
• Tighten the nut (22) up to the point that the cutting blade (14) has no side play left
• Carry out some blade opening and closing cycles
• The nut (22) tightening is correct when the display shows 6/7 notches
• If the display shows more than 7 notches, the nut has to be loosen. The display indicates NO PASS.
WARNING!
When loosening the nut (22) it is suggested to give few slight hits to the blade pin (29) on the nut side to
create the right clearance among the components.
6.1.4 Cutting blade (14) replacement
The following operations shall be performed in the indicated order:
• Remove the screws (11) to open the blade replacement front cover (30)
WARNING!
It is not allowed to open the shear body. All operations which can be performed by the operator
autonomously are to be carried out just removing the corresponding cover.
• Remove the rack pin cover (31).
• Disassemble the cutting blade (14) by means of an Allen key (size 4) turning the hexagon anti-clockwise till the
rack pin (26) aligns with the removed cover (see the red point in the picture).
