6.4 Installation and operation for TIG
6.5 6.4.1TIG installation
1)
Connect the TIG torch correctly according to the figure below. Connect the connector of the TIG torch to the
corresponding connector on the machine panel, and tighten it clockwise.
2)
Connect the aviation plug on the TIG torch to the corresponding socket on the machine panel, and tighten it
clockwise.
3)
Insert the quick plug on the earth cable into the "+" quick socket on the machine panel, and tighten it clockwise.
Clamp the workpiece with the work clamp at the other end of the earth cable.
4)
Tightly connect the gas hose to the gas regulator on the cylinder via the machine exterior. (There is no control
circuit for TIG torch trigger and gas path inside the machine for this model.) The joint with the hose should be
tightened with a hoop to prevent gas leakage and air mixing. Otherwise, weld bead cannot be well protected.
5)
The enclosure of the machine must be grounded reliably to avoid static and electric shock. The yellow/green
wire of the power cord is for this purpose.

6.5.3 Operation method
1)
Switch the MMA/MIG/TIG switch to TIG mode.
2)
Open the gas valve of the cylinder, and adjust the gas regulator to the desired value.
3)
Adjust the welding current through the current potentiometer according to the welding requirements and the
thickness of workpiece.
4)
Contact the workpiece slightly with the electrode in the torch to make them short-circuited, and then keep the
torch 2~3mm away from the workpiece. After arc is ignited, the current is at the preset value, and welding can
be carried out. After a welding process is finished, take the TIG torch away from the workpiece. At this time, the
arc goes out, and welding ends.
When welding ends, close the gas valve immediately to avoid gas waste
