REPLACING THE BLADES
ATTENTION: For more safety, before performing this operation check that the machine is
completely off and the spark plug removed. Remember to drain the oil from the oil tank before
removing the blade.
If you wish to replace the blades, remove the bolt. Proceed to the installation as shown in the picture. Tighten the
screw. Torsion tension should be 40Nm. Replace the bolt when replacing the blade.
CLEANING GUIDELINES
ATTENTION: Do not use solvents, chemicals or abrasives when cleaning the machine, as some
surfaces may be damaged.
•
Wear gloves or use suitable tools to assist in cleaning, do not use bare hands.
•
Clean the machine after every use to ensure best performance and longest service life.
•
It is recommended to jack the machine up when inspecting or working on the underside of the deck. Avoid tilting
the machine to avoid potential fuel or oil spills or leaks.
•
Use a slightly damp cloth, water and mild detergent for cleaning.
•
Use a brush for parts that are difficult to reach.
•
Ensure air vents and surfaces designed for heat dissipation are clean and free of obstructions or debris.
•
Remove clippings, dirt etc from the underside of the deck and cutting blades (the deck wash function on some
models assists this procedure).
•
It is recommended to lightly oil the cutting blades after each use to help prevent corrosion.
•
Ensure all chutes and flaps are clean and not obstructed.
•
Ensure that spring-loaded parts, such as the rear guard, return to the normal position when released.
•
Clean and check the grass catcher for any damage, replace damaged parts. Allow the grass catcher to dry
thoroughly before storing to prevent mildew or deterioration of the catcher netting (where applicable).
•
Ensure that all control cables, levers, switches etc are clean and operate normally and smoothly.
USING THE DECK WASH FUNCTION
Some models feature a "deck wash" function, which can be used to simplify cleaning blades and the cutting area
(the underside). Please note that this function is not used to clean the lawnmower completely, it will get rid of some
grass cuttings build-ups and some dirt from the deck, but most importantly, it will soften it so that it will be easier to
clean it properly by hand afterwards. Keeping the underside clean will extend the service life of your machine and of
the blades. To use the deck wash function:
1.
Install the mulching and side discharge attachments and lower the deck to the lowest cutting height.
2.
Connect the garden hose to the deck wash port and turn the water supply on.
3.
Start the engine and allow it to run at high speed for about 30 to 60 seconds. Please note that the water,
the grass clippings and dirt will be come out through the side discharge valve.
4.
Stop the engine and turn off the water supply, then clean off the dirt and grass clippings off the deck by
hand (use gloves) or use a suitable tool. You may need to perform this procedure several times.
