USE
When the engine is idling (slowest continuous running speed), the cutting action is minimal. As the engine speed
increases, the cutting action becomes more efficient. Operate the engine at a sufficient speed to provide the desired
cutting action. This may vary depending on the type of grass, grass height and density, etc.
THROTTLE
Manual throttles motors usually have a choke setting on the throttle that is used to start the engine when it is cold.
Once the engine is started, the machine can be used. For manual throttle machines, you adjust the engine speed
manually. For example, when cutting thicker or longer grass, increase the engine speed.
The position of this lever determines the motor speed. To decrease the motor speed, slide the lever upwards. On the
other hand, if you want to increase the motor speed you must slide the lever down, but not to the end.
When you are pushing the mower from one area to another, but not cutting, you can "idle" the engine (run it slow,
but not stop). Place the throttle lever upwards.
SELF-PROPELLED LEVER
The self-propelling function (forward direction only) allows the rear wheels to
be activated automatically so that you do not need to push the device for easier
cutting. The function is switched on and off with the self-propel lever. When the
bar is released, the unit stops. The throttle speed is not directly controlled; however,
it can vary a bit with the engine speed.
When the engine is not running, if the drive activation bar is pulled in, the drive
gears will engage which can make it difficult to move the mower. It is recommended
to release the drive activation bar when changing direction, reversing, etc.
To activate the self-propel function, hold the drive activation bar against the handle.
To deactivate the function, release the bar.
CUTTING TYPES AND LAWN DISCHARGE
CUTTING USING THE GRASS CATCHER
With the grass catcher installed, all the cut grass cuttings will be collected inside the grass catcher. The grass catcher
is used to catch the grass while working.
INDICATOR
The grass catcher is equipped with a window that indicates the level of grass cuttings during the work.
•
When the window is open, there is still space to pick up grass in the grass catcher.
•
When the window is closed, the grass catcher is full and must be emptied.
Empty the basket regularly while you work. Do not wait until it is full, it is recommended to empty it when it is half full.
CUTTING USING THE REAR DISCHARGE OR MULCHING
If the grass catcher is not installed the lawn will be thrown towards the back. To use the mulching option, you must
install the mulching attachment on the back of the mower and keep the side discharge closed. When mulching the
cut grass is finely chopped inside the mower chassis and can be left on the cut grass as a "grass feed", as fertilizer
or organic fertilizer.
