LIM Does Not Complete Start Up Sequence
Immediately after applying power to the LIM, it does not complete the start up
sequence. The bar graph LEDs might or might not light up, the Total Hazard Current
displays HI, 9.9, or oscillates between HI and 9.9.
Possible Cause: The LIM is set for 240V operation, but a lower voltage is being applied
(for example, 120V).
Action: Check the voltage being applied to the LIM. If the voltage is 120 VAC then set
the slide switch to the correct voltage for the incoming voltage to the LIM. Refer to Slide
Switch Settings, page 10 for instructions on how to set the slide switch.

HAZARD OF OVERVOLTAGE.
H
Do not apply voltage higher than 132 VAC to the LIM when the slide switch is
set at 120 VAC.
Failure to observe this precaution can result in death, severe personal injury, or
equipment damage.
LIM displays "Er" (error code) 8.1 either continuously or intermittently.
The LIM may have been in operation for some time or may display this problem on start
up.
Possible Cause: One of the field connected lead wires from the LIM terminal board to
the remote indicator alarm (Cat. No. IA-NC) may have a short circuit to ground.
Action: Disconnect power to the LIM. Remove the field connected remote indicator lead
wires at the LIM terminal board. Re-energize the LIM; if the problem is corrected
examine the lead wires to the remote indicator for a possible short circuit to ground
using an ohm meter. The impedance between any of the three remote indicator lead
wires should be very high (greater than 1 Mohm.) Repair the short circuit to ground and
reconnect the lead wires to the remote indicator. Re-energize the LIM to verify repair of
the short circuit.
Note: The use of solid conductors is not recommended for the field connected remote
lead wires.
Total Hazard Current "HI" After Start Up Sequence
Immediately after applying power to the LIM, the Hazard LED is flashing, the internal
audible alarm is on, the red bars of the analog bar graph are flashing, and the Total
Hazard Current displays HI.
Possible Cause: The LIM is hooked up to grounded power or too much equipment is
connected to the isolated power transformer. Total hazard current is above 9.9 mA.
