Safe Condition
During the safe operating condition (normal standby), when the measured hazard
current is less than the selected alarm level, the following occurs:
• The green Safe LED is illuminated.
• The red Hazard LED is not illuminated.
• Only the green LED bars in the analog bar graph are illuminated.
Note: None of the green LED bars on the analog bar graph illuminate for hazard currents less
than 10% of the selected alarm level.
• The Total Hazard Current displays a number less than the selected alarm level, either 2 mA
E
N
or 5 mA .

During an alarm condition, when the total hazard current exceeds the selected alarm
level, the following occur simultaneously:
• The green Safe LED is not illuminated.
• The red Hazard LED is illuminated and flashes at a constant rate.
• The red LED bars in the analog bar graph are illuminated and flash at a constant rate.
• The internal audible alarm activates (if turned on).
Alarm procedure—press the Alarm Silence button to silence the alarm and illuminate
the yellow LED. When the fault is cleared, the LIM resets itself to the safe condition.
Alarm Test
The LIM can be tested while the isolated power system is in use. Press the Test button to
initiate this sequence:
1.
The LIM sounds the internal audible alarm.
2.
The Total Hazard Current:
a. counts down from 9.9 to 0.0.
b. displays CL while the LIM inserts an internal fault on the isolated power lines
and checks the hazard current measurements against pre-established tolerances.
c. displays CH for two seconds while the LIM checks its internal calibration.
3.
The LIM returns to a safe condition and displays the hazard current of the isolated
power system.
