Section 6—Maintenance and Troubleshooting
SECTION 6—MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING
Maintenance
The LIM does not require regular maintenance, nor does it contain any user-serviceable
parts—except the two fuses. If the LIM requires service, contact your local Federal
Pioneer sales representative. Note: Before you call, read the following sections about
troubleshooting for answers to many common problems.
Fuse Replacement
If the LIM appears to be unpowered (no LEDs are illuminated and no response to the
TEST button), a fuse may be opened. Refer to Display and LEDs Do Not Illuminate
below for instructions. Note: If the fuses need replacement, replace them only with
Wickmann fuse TR5-T, 250 mA (Federal Pioneer part no. 25499-12821).
Troubleshooting
The following sections describe potential problems, their possible causes, and actions to
take for each problem. After reading through this section, if you cannot solve the
problem, contact your local Federal Pioneer sales representative for assistance.
Problems During Start Up
Problems that may occur during start up are as follows.
Display and LEDs Do Not Illuminate During Start Up
Immediately after applying power to the LIM, the display and the LEDs do not
illuminate and LIM does not respond when the TEST button is pressed.
Possible Cause: The LIM is not receiving the necessary power or a fuse is open.
Action:
1.
Verify that the LIM terminals are receiving the necessary power.
2.
Check the voltage at terminals 1 and 2 for single-phase power and terminals 1, 2,
and 3 for three-phase power.
3.
If the LIM is receiving the necessary power:
a. Disconnect power from the equipment and check the fuses.
b. Remove the faceplate using a T-9 TORX
on the bottom circuit board of the LIM (refer to Figure 4 on page 9).
c. Check the fuses with an ohmmeter. If a fuse is open, replace it only with a
Wickmann TR5-T fuse, 250 mA (Federal Pioneer part number 25499-12821).
