Dismantling/Maintenance
Always switch off the power supply when dismantling or carrying out maintenance!
1 Switch the pump off.
2 Drain the water from the device.
3 Carefully unscrew the threaded top from the filter.
4 Unscrew the lid (A) from the UV-C device together with the lamp and replace the special lamp if necessary.
5 Carefully remove the quartz glass (C) with a small coin. Never use force!
6 Clean the quartz glass with a suitable agent. Always use a soft cloth to clean the glass; avoid scratches.
7 Unscrew the elbow and remove the UV-C housing from the drip tray.
8 Remove the drip tray, the collecting tube, the mat, the bio-blocks and the cartridge.
9 Rinse the drip tray, mats and bio-blocks in a bucket of pond water. Do not use tap water to do this, as this would
completely destroy the developed bacterial culture.
10 Re-fit the collecting tube, the bio-blocks, the mat, the cartridge and the drip tray (drawing).
11 Re-mount the UV-C housing in the drip tray and tighten the elbow. When tightening the elbow, pay attention to
the correct position of the sealing ring.
12 Reposition the quartz glass in the UV-C housing. When repositioning the quartz glass in the housing, pay attention
to the correct position of the sealing rings (D).
13 If necessary, spread a little Vaseline on the bottom of the quartz glass (E) to make it easier to re-insert it into the
housing.
14 Re-fit the screw lid (A) onto the housing and hand-tighten.
15 Now test the operation of the UV-C device (see: Installation).
16 Screw the lid onto the filter.
17 Connect the hoses by means of hose clips (not included in the delivery).
18 Switch the pump on and check the system for flow and leakage.
19 Switch the UV-C device on.
Tip:
A 2-way tap can be used for pond pumps with a larger capacity. When selecting the pump, bear in mind that the
pump's output decreases as the water has to be raised to a higher level. So when choosing a pump, always take
account of the difference in height between the water level of the pond and the place of the filter. If in doubt,
consult your pond specialist.
