show 0 volts. Make sure that the probes touch the metallic contacts in the
socket before assuming that voltage has not been applied.
Devices like welding transformer, car ignition system, etc. could produce stray
electromagnetic fields which could adulterate the result of a measurement.
Bargraph
Bar graph has 60 segments and is refreshed 10 times/sec. It displays segments
proportional to the actual reading. For example: 60 V-range, each segment
represents 1 Volt. The bar graph is not available at frequency and capacity
measuring.
Data hold
If the reading could not be read during measurement due to difficult operation
the „HOLD"-button (6.1) could be pressed to freeze the display reading.
1. Press the „HOLD"-button to freeze the display reading.
2. The display shows the „HOLD"-symbol to indicate the activated HOLD
function.
3. Press the „HOLD"-button again to return to standard operation.
Relative mode
The relative measurement feature allows you to make measurements relative
to a stored reference value. A reference voltage (current, etc.) can be stored
and following measurements can be compared to this value. The displayed
value is the difference between the reference and the measured value.
Use the function key REL (6.5) to start or stop the relative value measurement.
Perform the measurement as described below.
Press REL to store the measured value as the reference value and the
"REL" indicator appears on the display.
For further measurements, the device now displays the current value
minus the reference value.
To exit the relative value function, press the REL key again.
Measurement of variable (non-constant) frequencies (VFD)
The VFD function allows to measure alternating voltages and currents with
variable (non-constant) frequency.
