Saw chain (Fig. 13)
• Perform 30° filing on cutters:
1) Adjust the chain for proper tension.
2) Clamp the guide bar in vise to hold the saw firmly.
3) Rest a 5/32" round file (attached to a file guide) between top plate and depth guage, then
sharpen the cutters as illustrated in Fig. 13a & 13b.
• Perform filing on cutter depth gauge:
1) Place depth gauge tool (0,025") firmly across top of two cutters. Make sure depth gauge
enters slot in depth gauge tool.
2) With a medium flat file, file depth gauge level with depth gauge tool.
3) Remove depth gauge tool. With a flat file, round off front corner of cutter depth gauge.
• Replace saw chain (Fig. 14):
1) Replace the chain when the cutters are too worn to sharpen or the chain breaks.
2) Loosen the chain tension adjustment knob (11).
3) Remove the sprocket cover (10) and tension adjustment knob (11).
4) Remove the saw chain (13) and guide bar (12).
