3. Technical description
Universal Spray Gun "System HD": Spray gun for conventional atomisation.
When pressing the trigger, the preliminary air is opened first and afterwards the material needle is pulled back. In
this way the spray material passes through the nozzle. Closing takes place in reverse order. The material flow volume
depends on the diameter of the nozzle and the setting of the material pressure at the pressure vessel or material pres-
sure controller. In addition, the material volume can be controlled by screwing the adjusting screw in or out.
For more adjustment option, please refer to chapter 6 "Changing the spray pattern".
4. Connect the supply lines.
WARNING:
Material and air hoses, which are attached with a hose clamp, have to be secured with a hose band clip
in addition.
Version with gravity feed cup
1.
Attach the compressed air hose to the air pipe (cleaned compressed air) and/or to an air purifier and to the air con-
nection of the spray gun.
2. Fill the gravity feed cup with screened material. Close the gravity feed cup.
3. Switch the compressed air supply on. The gun is operational now.
5. Start-up and operation
WARNING:
Before starting up the spray gun, the following prerequisites have to be fulfilled: The material pressure
must not be set any higher than 8 bar. The air pressure must not exceed 8 bar.
NOTE:
1.
Start up the spray gun in order to produce a spray pattern. The spray pattern can be made on a
sampling work piece, sheet metal, cardboard or paper.
2.
Check the spray pattern and modify the setting of the spray gun, if and when required.
Observe the following safety instructions, in particular, prior to operating the spray gun.
WARNING:
Wear respiratory protection and work clothing according to the regulations when working with the spray
gun. Paint mist jeopardises your health.
˗
Wear hearing protection in the work area of the spray gun. The sound level of the spray gun is abt.
85 dB(A).
˗
Fire, naked light and smoking are forbidden at the workplace. When spraying easily inflammable
materials (such as lacquers, adhesives, cleaning agents, et cetera), there is a higher explosion and
fire risk.
˗
When spraying materials, do not hold hands or other parts of the body in front of the pressurised
nozzle of the spray gun - risk of injury.
˗
At the end of work, the spray gun always has to be depressurised. Lines under pressure may burst
and persons close by may be injured by the material flowing out.
