• Fresh, cold tap water should be used in the machine at all times.
DO NOT USE HOT WATER. Hot water that has been softened
can make bitter coffee.
• Use a tablespoon to measure the blended coffee and place into the filter.
Be sure filter is properly seated. For best results, use coffee recommended
for automatic drip coffeemakers.
• When cleaning, do not use abrasive cleanser or caustic compounds.
Wipe with damp cloth only. Unplug unit when cleaning or wiping.
• Except for special cleaning, do not pour any liquids except cold water into the water
reservoir. NEVER REHEAT COFFEE BY PASSING IT THROUGH THE COFFEE
BREWING SYSTEM.
• Never turn on the unit unless water is in the reservoir, and the carafe and filter basket
are in the proper position.
• NEVER IMMERSE COFFEEMAKER IN WATER.
• Unplug coffeemaker when not in use.
• Never put empty carafe on the warming plate when unit is plugged in,
or hot plate is still hot. This could cause carafe to break.
• Use standard 4-cup coffee filters.
• Do not place carafe on open flame or electric stove, as it may break the carafe
or burn the handle. Always start fresh coffee with a clean carafe.
• Do not bump carafe or allow to boil dry. Do not try to tighten the band
as excessive pressure could lead to breakage.
• Be sure coffeemaker has finished brewing and drip cycle has been stopped
before removing carafe to serve coffee.
• Keep your coffeemaker clean. Follow instructions for regular and occasional cleaning.
• Upon frequent usage, a lime deposit may form in the water reservoir.
Special cleaning is recommended twice a month. In areas with extremely
hard water, frequent cleaning may be required.
• For special cleaning, use the same procedure as recommended for first-time cleaning.
