6.4.5. Compatibility mode (as of firmware R4.00)
The compatibility mode is used to operate a ComTerminal from firmware R4.00 in exist-
ing installations. Compatibility mode is enabled in the factory settings of the ComTermi-
nal.
As of firmware R4.00 of the ComTerminal, the disconnection of plug-in call devices in the
room is triggered as a separate call type "Plug alert". In addition, "Service calls" can be

call devices is triggered as call type "call"; service calls cannot be triggered at all. To use
the new functions, you must disable the compatibility mode.
CAUTION
Disabling the compatibility mode can result in system malfunctions in existing
installations! The new functions have various requirements for the nurse call
system. In particular, consoles running PrimusGlobal software must be upda-
ted to a revision level of 3.18 or higher. Existing systems often have a very
complex structure (installation history, special solutions, firmware revisions).
Therefore, disabling the compatibility mode requires a check and, if necessary,
adaptation of the existing system.
