poor insulators (especially on iron posts);
vegetation growth making a short circuit down to the earth;
short circuitry from high voltage cable. Especially with underpasses and/or along build-
ings, normal electric wire or cable for 230/400 Vac must never be used.
In all above defects the earth stake will also be energized until the defect/defects has/have
been removed.
Connecting 2 energizers to the same earth stake:
It is not allowed to connect 2 energizers to the same earth stake, this will cause that at least
one of the energizers will break down. There must be at least 3 m between 2 different earth
stakes.
Connecting a wire from one fencing (energizer A) to another fencing (energizer B):
It is not allowed to have a wire from 2 different energizers to be closer than 2 m from each
other.
When measuring or touching the fence wire no power can be measured or felt:
The earth stake is insufficient. Please look section "Testing the earth stake".
Maintaining your energizer:
To obtain the maximum benefit from your energizer for as many years as possible, it is impor-
tant that you give the product the best possible operation conditions. When the device is in
operation it can run both indoors and outdoors, and has no problems withstanding difficult
weather conditions with heavy precipitation and significant temperature fluctuations. This is
because the "inbuilt" heating from the device´s modest power consumption is sufficient to
keep the electronic components free of moisture.
When the device is not in operation it should be stored indoors under stable temperature
conditions to avoid moisture. You most therefore not allow your energizer to hang outdoors
for a long periods without power, as moisture and condensation will act very quickly (par-
ticularly during the winter) to damage PCBs and electronic components, which will thus de-
stroy the energizer. To give your energizer extra protection against wind and weather, you
must not cover the energizer with e.g. a plastic bag. This will have the effect that the energizer
is unable to breathe. Often moisture will be created, with the consequence that the energiz-
er´s electronic components will be damaged in a very short time.
If an electric fence breaks down because of the above, the guarantee is rendered invalid.
