Fence wire connection
Connect the red wire to the fence terminal (
the fence. If the distance from the energizer to the fence is long it is better to use a high
voltage cable to connect from the fence terminal (
field. Especially with underpasses and/or along buildings high voltage cable must be used.
Normal electric wire or cable for 230/400 Vac must never be used.
Earth connection
To ensure an optimal functionality of your electric fence it is important that the connection to
the earth is perfect. Assemble the 2–part earth stake and press the earth stake into the
ground. Attach the black wire to the earth stake and place the energizer above the earth
stake. Connect the black wire to the earth terminal (
Testing the earth stake
When you have finalized the connection to the fence, a test of the installation is recommend-
ed.
As shown in the picture you can make a good temporary connection from the fence wire to
the earth with e.g. an iron post approx 100 m away from the energizer. Turn the energizer on
and use a digital voltmeter to measure the values of the earth stake. The voltage at the earth
stake should not exceed 0.3 KV or 300 Volts. You can also touch the earth stake and find out if
you get a shock. If so, the earth connection is not adequate and you must add an extra earth
stake. It is recommended to place a new earth stake 3 m away from the first one and connect
them with a high voltage cable. Continue this operation until the earth stake does not give any
shocks. Please remove the temporary earth connection when the testing is finished.
